BigRedPokie earns money through affiliate links. When you click through to some of the operators we list and go on to sign up, we may be paid a commission. This page sets out exactly how that works, what it costs you, and why it doesn’t decide our ratings.
Gambling is for adults 18+. If it stops being fun, call Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858.
The short version
Some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you use one to open an account, the operator may pay us a commission or a share of revenue. It costs you nothing extra. The bonus and the terms are the same whether you reach the operator through us or type the address in yourself. That commission is how we fund the testing: the real deposits and withdrawals, and the hours they take to do properly.
How affiliate links work on this site
Our affiliate links usually run through a tracked redirect. You’ll see a /out/ link when you click an operator’s “Get Bonus” button. That redirect tells the operator the visit came from us, which is how a commission gets attributed.
We’re paid in one of two ways: a one-off amount when a referred player signs up and deposits (CPA), or an ongoing share of the operator’s revenue from that player (revenue share). Either way, we’re paid by the operator, never by you.
What it does and doesn’t change
What it changes: it keeps the site running and pays for hands-on testing instead of rewritten press releases.
What it doesn’t change: the rating. We don’t take payment for a higher score, we don’t sell placements that override our ratings, and an operator can’t buy its way past a problem we found. How we actually score sites is set out in full in our Editorial Policy. If an operator we earn from treats players badly, the review says so, and if it’s bad enough we warn you off it by name.
Our obligations under Australian law
This isn’t just our own rule. Under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), the ACCC requires that online reviews be genuine, reflect real experience, and not mislead. Commercial relationships and incentives have to be disclosed, and businesses can’t make false or misleading claims about a product. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to: the affiliate relationship is disclosed here and on every money page, and the reviews reflect what actually happened when we tested.
What we will and won’t do
| We do | We don’t |
|---|---|
| Disclose the affiliate relationship openly, on every page | Pretend the links are neutral or hide the commission |
| Earn commission only after you choose to sign up | Charge you anything for using our links |
| Score operators on testing, not on what they pay | Sell higher ratings or “featured” spots that override ratings |
| Name operators that treat players badly, even paying ones | Stay quiet about a bad operator because it earns us money |
Responsible gambling
A bonus is entertainment, not income, and no offer changes the fact that pokies are built to profit the operator over time. Set a deposit limit before you start and never chase losses. Free, confidential support is available 24/7 from Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858.
