This policy explains what information BigRedPokie (bigredpokie.com) collects, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If anything here is unclear, contact us.
The short version
- You can read the whole site without giving us any personal details.
- If you create a free BigRed Members account, we keep your first name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) password.
- We email you only if you tick the newsletter box, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Our Lucky Days birth chart calculator and quiz run in your browser. We never receive the birth details you type into them.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- This site is for adults 18 and over.
Information we collect
When you create a BigRed Members account
First name, email address and password. Your password is stored only in hashed form, so we can’t read it. We also record whether you’ve verified your email, whether you opted into our newsletter, and when.
When you use member features
If you vote on whether a bonus or coupon worked for you, we store your vote against your account so each member votes once.
When you contact us
The name, email address and message you send through our contact form.
When you browse
Like most websites, our servers and security services see technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. Our analytics tools (below) record how visitors use the site.
Lucky Days tools
The birth chart calculator, Pokie Sign quiz, Chinese zodiac finder, lucky numbers and compatibility check all run inside your browser. The birth date, time and town you enter are not sent to us and are not stored. If we later offer personal weekly plans built from your birth details, we’ll ask for your clear consent first, explain exactly what is kept, and let you delete it at any time.
How we use it
- To run your account: sign-in, email verification and password resets.
- To send our newsletter and member offers, only if you opted in.
- To answer your messages.
- To understand which pages are useful and fix what isn’t, using analytics.
- To keep the site secure and stop spam and abuse.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who handle data on our behalf:
- Kinsta hosts the website and its database.
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks, so it processes connection data such as IP addresses.
- AWeber sends our newsletter. If you opt in, your first name and email address are added to our AWeber list.
- Matomo analytics runs on a server we control and records page visits.
- Clicky (getclicky.com) provides additional visit analytics, including clicks on outbound links.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. We choose providers with recognised security practices. We’ll also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in to your account (including “remember me”), to protect forms from spam, and for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though signing in won’t work without them.
Links to other sites
Some pages on BigRedPokie link to other websites, including casino operators through our affiliate links. Once you leave our site, that site’s own privacy policy and cookies apply. We don’t control them and don’t receive your personal details from them, though we may be told that a visitor we referred signed up, without your name or contact details.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal details within 30 days, except where we must keep a record by law. Newsletter subscriptions end as soon as you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your account.
- Email: every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
- Complaints: contact us first and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
To make a request, use our contact page and include the email address on your account.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access to our systems is limited. No method of storing data online is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we act quickly if something goes wrong and will tell affected members when the law requires it.
Under 18s
BigRedPokie is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top. Significant changes will be emailed to members.
