This week’s sky
The week opens with a busy sky. Mercury turned retrograde in Scorpio on Saturday 24 October at 6:15 pm and stays that way until 14 November, so double-check messages, bookings and plans. Venus, also retrograde, slips back into Libra at 9:30 pm on Sunday 25 October. Our Mercury retrograde guide has every date.
The main event is the full moon in Taurus on Monday 26 October at 3:12 pm Sydney time. With the Sun in Scorpio, it lights up the Taurus-Scorpio axis, so Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius are likely to feel it most. Astrologers link this axis with comfort versus intensity, and with what we value. See the moon calendar for the dates after it.
Mars and Jupiter keep company in Leo, a warm and sociable backdrop, while Saturn retrograde in Aries keeps asking for patience. The Moon moves into Gemini at 12:10 pm on Wednesday 28 October and into Cancer at 1:10 pm on Friday 30 October.
How to read your weekly plan
Every sign gets seven days with one of three labels. They describe a mood for the day, not a prediction about money or luck.
- Play day: the Moon is friendly to your sign. It suits relaxed, budgeted entertainment, a night out with mates or a bit of time on a hobby. It is never a day you are more likely to win anything.
- Light play: a neutral day. Keep things short and low-key, with plenty of breaks.
- Rest day: the Moon is in a tense or awkward position for your sign. This is a day for a walk, the footy, cooking something slow, a call to a mate or an early night.
Rest days are a feature, not a warning. We always give every sign at least two Rest days each week, even in a gentle week. Beside the day labels you will also find a lucky colour and three lucky numbers for each sign, chosen for fun from the sign and the week. They cannot influence any game.
How we calculate it
We use real planet positions from an astronomy ephemeris, the same type of calculation observatories use, to find where the Moon is on each day of the week. Then we compare the Moon’s sign each day with your Sun sign. The same sign, or signs two or four places apart (a sextile or trine in astrology), are friendly. Signs three or six places apart (a square or opposition) are tense. Neighbouring signs are neutral.
This week the full moon in Taurus adds extra weight for the four fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. We also work out which part of your chart this week’s planets fall in, counting from your Sun sign, and use that for the written overview on each sign page. All times on this site are Sydney time, and we publish every Sunday.
Sun sign or full chart?
A weekly horoscope based on your Sun sign is a simple starting point, because only one in twelve people share your sign. Your full birth chart places the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars as well, using your exact date, time and place of birth. Astrologers say your rising sign and Moon sign can read very differently from your Sun sign. If you want the bigger picture, try our free birth chart calculator. A word on playing responsibly
Pokies run on a random number generator (RNG), so stars, planets and lucky numbers have no effect on results. Our plan is a bit of fun for pacing your week. If you play, stick to free demos on our free pokies page or keep to a budget you can afford, take breaks and treat every Rest day as a day off. If gambling is no longer fun, visit responsible gambling or call Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858 at gamblinghelponline.org.au.
Questions people ask
What is my weekly horoscope for 25 to 31 October 2026?
Pick your sign in the grid above or in the list below it. Each sign page has a headline for the week, a day-by-day plan, lucky numbers and a lucky colour. The big events are Mercury retrograde in Scorpio and the Taurus full moon on Monday 26 October.
What does Play day mean?
A Play day is a day when the Moon is friendly to your sign, which suits relaxed, budgeted entertainment. It does not mean you are more likely to win. Pokies run on a random number generator, so every spin is independent of the day.
Why does every sign get Rest days?
We always build at least two Rest days into every sign’s week. Rest is part of a healthy routine, and a day off from screens, pokies and phones is good for anyone. Try a walk, a cook-up or an early night.
How often is the weekly horoscope updated?
We publish a new weekly horoscope every Sunday, covering Sunday to Saturday in Sydney time. The calculations come from real planet positions, so each week’s plan is different.
Does astrology change my chances on the pokies?
No. Pokies use a random number generator, so astrology, lucky numbers and Play days have no effect on results. Play for fun with a budget, and call Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858 if gambling is no longer fun.
